This Colostrum Collector kit is designed to easily collect the first drops of colostrum in the early days of breastfeeding, to help feed to baby straight away.
These collectors feature a wide 30mm port to help catch and store every drop of colostrum, the nutrient-rich first milk produced by mothers in the early days of breastfeeding.
Colostrum is often referred to as 'liquid gold' because it is richer in proteins, antibodies, and essential nutrients compared to mature breast milk. It provides critical immune protection and helps baby’s digestive system adapt to feeding.
The collectors are freezer-safe, so you can store the colostrum to feed baby later.
While nipple stimulation from collecting colostrum can release oxytocin, which may cause mild contractions, it is generally safe to collect colostrum late in pregnancy. However, if you have any concerns or experience a high-risk pregnancy, consult with your healthcare provider before beginning colostrum collection.
You can start collecting colostrum a few weeks before your due date and continue in the first few days postpartum until your mature milk comes in.
